Hello again collectors.
We're headed out next week to attend the Military Antiques Xtravaganza (MAX) show in Pittsburgh. This is one of the premier militaria collecting events in the country, with an emphasis on German military items.
The next weekend we'll be attending the MINNEAPOLIS-ST.PAUL MILITARY RELIC AND WEAPON COLLECTOR SHOW at the Minnesota State Fair Grounds in St. Paul.
We'll be accepting consignment at both events, so pack up your militaria and bring them on down! It's a great opportunity to save on shipping costs, as we will only be charging a nominal fee to bring items back! This fee will be taken from your sales as well, so there is no up front out of pocket fee. If you would like more information, don't hesitate to call our office at 866.626.4661.
Speaking of consignment - we have a lot! Especially US military items. It's a great time for the US collector on Manion's. While not as "desirable" as German militaria, the US items are doing really well. Some items are going for big bucks, while others remain at affordable prices that are beneficial for the bidder and the consignor. In addition, US items are much less of a minefield than the German collectibles as there are not anywhere as many fraudulent individuals involved.
Also, it looks like we are going to have more items soon from the legendary Museum of World Wars. There will be some really interesting items, including: costume items from the movie Patton, aximilian Shell's uniform from both the movies young Lions and Counterpoint, a documented picture of Adolf Hitler from Berchtesgaden and much more - stay tuned!
Well, that's it for now folks - thanks again for reading Manion's Collecting News.

Greetings Militaria Collectors!
Hello again folks, and thanks for reading Manion's Collecting News.
Manion's has been busy as usual with military collectibles coming in and going out. Seems like there are a lot of US items being posted lately, so take note if this is your area of interest.
We'd like to thank those on the Wehrmacht Awards forums for helping us get a couple of unoriginal items off of our site. Of course we'd have liked it better if they had let us know directly rather than just making posts about it, but what are you going to do...
Again, Manion's staff will never knowingly post a fake item as original on the website. Our German describers have been collecting for decades and really know their stuff, but sometimes things get through and make it onto the auction for one reason or another.
Those guys really appreciate it when someone calls in with questions about items - even if it questions their expertise. They reject HUNDREDS of items every month, and send them back to the consignor. We'd like to just destroy them, or mark them as fake, but that is a complicated issue.
We know we will never please 100% of collectors, and realize many have private agendas that involve discrediting other collectors and organizations. WWII German collecting is riddled with fraudulent items and individuals. When collecting anything, doing your research and asking questions is paramount.
If anyone ever has a question about the authenticity of an item on Manion's, please contact us. We will take additional pictures and post them immediately, and you can talk one on one with the person who did the original description. Manion's is run by collectors for collectors, essentially, and inquiries are always welcome.
I guess that's all for now, check back soon for Manion's Collecting News updates!
Here's a video made the ruins of a Nazi stronghold on the shores of Bretagne, France. It's pretty neat - enjoy!

Power Down at Manion's!
We apologize for the inconvenience, but the power is temporarily down at Manion's International Auction House. There was a storm in Kansas City last night and it hit the auction hard - not as hard as storms have in the past, thank God, but it left us without power and appears to have taken out our generator as well.
Again, we apologize for the inconvenience. Believe me, if there's anyone more upset about it than you, it's us...
We hope to be back up and running soon.

Consignment Galore!
Hello again militaria collectors,
I've been out of pocket since the Indy 1500 show, but I'm back "in country" and ready to roll!
If you were to walk in the delivery door here at our facility, your jaw would drop. Wooden shelves filled with consignment ready to go into photography. It's coming out of photography shelf after shelf, as well. Great military and historic collectibles. I've said it before and I'll say it again - there's no place like this place.
Here are some pics of a nice patch, tinnie, and German WWII collecting currently laid out:

Looks like our next show will be Military Relic and Weapon Collectors Show at the Progress Center Building Minnesota State Fairgrounds Minneapolis,MN Oct 13 - 14, 2007. After that - West Coast Historical Collectors Show Pomona, CA Nov 9 - 10, 2007.
As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns feel free to give us a call toll free: 866.626.4661.
Happy collecting!
